How do I report my gambling earnings? - Tax Guide
When you file your taxes, you'll report your gambling winnings as "Other Income."
ReadForm W-9 is used by businesses, freelancers, and real estate agents to provide their correct taxpayer identification number (TIN), which may be your Social Security Number (SSN), Individual Taxpayer Identification number (ITIN), Adoption Taxpayer Identification Number (ATIN), or Employer Identification Number (EIN) to a client. At tax time, the client sends the contracted business Form 1099-MIS, Miscellaneous Income, which helps the individual report the correct amount of income on his or her tax return. Usually, a client requests a Form W-9 if he or she expects to pay the contracted business more than $600 over the course of the year.
